Scott Macindoe has spent much of the last three decades contributing to fisheries management and marine protection initiatives, working alongside tangata whenua, Crown agencies, environmental NGOs, recreational and commercial fishers. He is a strong advocate for improving the management of fisheries, particularly in areas involving access, abundance, cultural and environmental concerns. He is a New Zealand Sport Fishing Council Board member and is actively involved in Council’s public outreach programme, LegaSea. Scott is also on the Mussel Reef Restoration Trust management team which is implementing an ambitious plan to restore the Gulf’s green-lipped mussel reefs. He is an accomplished gardener and enjoys hosting and providing for hui committed to achieving restored abundance of our inshore fisheries.
